My new toy!

Okay, so on my Blog post the other night I teased you about a new toy that I was getting. Well I popped over to Oyster Stamps in Rochester and collected it!

Say hello to my new toy

I have been watching and reading about this machine for some time now, the biggest selling point for me was to be able to scan and then cut, just like it says on the box!!

What did I get in the box?
  • The machine
  • Low tack adhesive mat 12" x 12"
  • Standard mat 12" x 12"
  • Standard cut blade holder & blade
  • Deep cut blade holder & blade
  • Iron-on fabric applique contact sheet
  • High tack adhesive fabric support sheet
  • Pen holder
  • 6 different colour pens
  • 2 different erasable pens
  • Spatula
  • Stylus
  • Accessory Bag
Anyway, when I collected my machine, I had a quick play - I didn't read any of the instructions (I am a man afterall!!!) got it to draw out a name and then cut it out - the result, rubbish! This was mainly because I was using a brand new mat and I worked to close to the edge! First lesson learnt!!!!

Anyway, when I got home I printed off some sheets from the Fabulous Fellas CD Rom, scanned it in and asked it to cut, here are some pics:

The first design I chose, was fairly simple, so I wanted to test it a bit more

As you can see it did a really good job - am I happy? Oh yes! This is going to save me so much time when making samples and prepping for demos/workshops. Don't get me wrong, I love cutting out the old fashioned way with scissors or a knife, but when you are up against the clock, this is going to be so handy!

Here is a video of it doing the cutting out:

How quick was that!

I know that the machine can do so much more, I just need to find the time to play, but in the mean time, it does exactly what I need it to do!

Happy Crafting
